about

When did you stop having play dates? I hope the answer is never, because play dates are really fun. Your friend brings his brand new nunchucks and his box of superhero action-figures, you’ve got your cowboy hat on with your stick horse and trusty He-Man toy. Luke Skywalker does a king-fu spin kick and knocks Magneto right out of his Lego tower.

Chaisaray and John are in their mid-30’s now, so it’s more like ‘hey man, bring that new splash cymbal and crunch ring over and I’ll show you these new sounds I made!’ ‘Check out these kung-fu samples I put together’ and there’s beer and we don’t have to ask our moms anymore.

This album was recorded live at Beer Thirty in Greensboro, NC. The show was entirely improvised. ‘Listen, Grasshopper’ was from an earlier session at Mr. Haircut Studios, but we wanted to include it because we like the kung fu sample a lot.
