Have you ever noticed how the horizon looks curved when you bend over backwards and look at it upside down? I was playing a two-week long gig at a camp near Panama City, FL with my good friend Kevin Beck and his fiancee Amy. We hanging out on the beach looking at the full moon, way past bedtime for the campers, and Amy noticed this strange phenomenon. They had just asked me to lead the music for their wedding, and I said I would like to write a tune for the ceremony. All of the music was going to be moon themed, and I think it was her idea to make this tune about the upside down/curvature/moon phenomenon. After they went to bed, I sat on the beach and this song happened. I can’t even take credit for the music; the song just happened and I was the one lucky enough to catch it.

The recording features all of Kevin’s friends that he hired to play the wedding. It was all very last minute and rushed, because I was busy and had to get five people from different cities to my house to record, and I think I finished the final mix at 7am the morning of the wedding. The whole process was pretty magical - one of those situations where, against all odds, things just worked out beautifully. Kevin's sister, Corrie, did the album art for this project.

They got married one month later, on a full moon.
